My Mother, the actress

If you live in Utah and you see someone that looks like JR, but with brown hair instead of red...
She dyed her hair for a role as an extra on a New Testament film by our church after she got an email that said something like "No redheads and No blondes". Monday she got to her first day of filming and  they completely covered her hair. Completely! Below is a couple of pictures she texted to me and an email she sent out about her experience so far. Pretty dang cool.

I flew into SLC Sunday night at midnight. Carma picked me up. I was on set at 5AM, Monday, in Goshen where the church has rebuilt the city of Jerusalem to stand through time, 20 miles south west of Payson out in the middle of the desert. It was dedicated and set apart as sacred ground by Pres. Bednar last month. You feel that very sacred spirit the whole time you are there. The church is filming a full length movie of the New Testament. I have been blessed to be an extra, all of whom must hold a current temple recommend, in this amazing production. Some have come, at their own expense, from as far away as Australia to just spend a couple of weeks on this! It will be used for decades for teaching, missionary, commercial & entertainment material. The directors are adhering to the scriptures literally. The wonderful man playing Jesus is John Fox, a father from New York. It was type casting. He takes his role so seriously, reading scripture continually between takes and treating everyone from the lighting person to every extra he sees as if he were Christ and loves us dearly and would do anything for us. I have not made it through any of the 5 scenes without crying! All 5-10 takes! We work 12-16 hours days and then drive 1 1/2 hrs back to South Jordon where I shower, fall into bed and wake at 4 the next morning. I was blessed to have a dear brother call me when he heard I was renting a car & has driven me, really looked out for, & taken great care of me every shoot! Met some fun people. Scott Siemans daughter, Megan has been doing my hair. Corbain Allred is one of our several medics (he has a mohawk for a film he is doing on WW1 pilots that gave themselves mohawks to intimidate the enemy). My old high school buddy & BYU roommate, Jill Thompson has a sweet friend (Ethel) from her ward who is friends with Allie, her daughter who is one of Anna Beth's friends (JR means we were friends when we were kids - haven't seen her in almost 30 years). That is just in 3 days. I am sure the next week & a half will turn up even more. When this production segment ends next week & I come home and find it all in one piece, I will share more special experiences. Just wanted to touch base with you to let you know why I've disappeared!
